About Us - Art
Sahel Ckhalag is a contemporary fine artist whose work unveils the hidden architecture of consciousness and the sacred forces shaping human existence. Her transgressive paintings merge abstract expressionism, symbolist surrealism, and cosmic spirituality, resulting in a visionary aesthetic that is intellectually provocative and emotionally transformative.
Working primarily in acrylics, enriched with gold leaf, geometric symbolism, and hyper-real figurative accents, she creates multidimensional compositions where the boundary between the material and the metaphysical dissolves. Her palette is unapologetically vivid and rich with alchemical contrasts, dripping textures, and ethereal light, revealing the ecstatic and shadowed terrains of the human psyche. Each painting is a dialogue between material and metaphysical planes. Acrylic, gold leaf, realism, and fluid abstraction converge by energetic necessity.
Deeply informed by tantra, ancestral wisdom, nature mysticism, the divine feminine, and Jungian archetypes, Sahel’s practice investigates themes of:
Inner alchemy – shadow transmuting into light
Cosmic origins and collective memory
The spiritual intelligence of nature and animals
The awakening of the intuitive and sensual self
Her recurring motifs such as the all-seeing eye, DNA strands, portal-like symmetries, celestial landscapes, water as rebirth, and animals as guides serve as visual codexes for higher perception and self-realisation.
“Painting is a ritual. Each piece is a passage into remembering what the soul already knows.” — Sahel Ckhalag
A self-taught prodigy, Sahel rediscovered her artistic path following a profound out-of-body experience in 2014 which was an event that transformed her creative purpose into a spiritual vocation. Today she works in an immersive connection with nature, allowing elements of water, wind, fire and sunlight to influence the canvas, reinforcing the concept that art itself is alive.
As a mindfulness practitioner and transpersonal psychologist, she considers each artwork a vessel of presence imbued with healing, emotion, and luminous consciousness. For collectors, her pieces offer more than visual elegance: they invite dialogue, awakening, and energetic exchange.
“The feminine is both a calm river and wildfire…a cosmic force that heals, destroys, and resurrects. My work honours that power.” — Sahel Ckhalag
Artist Statement:
I explore dualities: the ancient and the futuristic, the embodied and the transcendent, the chaotic and the divine. These tensions are alchemical catalysts by functioning as the pressures through which consciousness evolves.
Water and fire, celestial bodies, sacred geometry, and animal guides recur throughout my compositions as archetypal mediators. They symbolise a cosmology in which nature is not passive scenery but an expressive participant in our awakening. Figures and eyes appear as embodiments of perception and memory that challenge viewers to confront what has been forgotten within themselves.
My art is rooted in a commitment to reclaiming the feminine as a cosmic force that feels dynamic, sensual, intuitive, and revolutionary. I honour the feminine as both life-giver and storm-bringer, a presence that births worlds while demanding integrity and transformation. In revealing this multiplicity that is both divine and dark, I seek to dismantle the spiritual amnesia imposed by modernity.
Painting, to me, is a process of remembrance. I create from the belief that every human holds a primordial intelligence, and an ancestral connection to nature and the stars. My work invites a return to that knowing of our origin, power, and belonging.
Ultimately, my intention is not to provide answers but to ignite questions:
Where do we come from beyond the physical?
What is the language of the soul?
What becomes possible when we allow shadow and light to dance as one?
My canvases are thresholds through which viewers may encounter their own sacredness, vastness, and truth.
